This week was the final week to work on all of our stuff! We finished the scooter and it looked pretty good, the brakes and the helmet were all ready. At the community forum we prepared the table and was ready to present, our experience at the forum was great. At the forum we learned a lot about other groups’ project, as well as getting feedback on our project. We presented about the risks that come with e-scooters and how we are trying to prevent them by using our helmet, we told them about how over 90% of e-scooter user that ended up in hospitals didn’t wear a helmet. We also presented this website and how they can contact us on our contact page and see our blogs on this page. We prepared for this community forum by bringing in our e-scooter early in the morning the day earlier and printed out the poster so people could look at it and understand the project. We learned that people thought it was a good idea and they would like to see it be implemented.

Last week, me(Evan), Jackson, and Cameron finalized our scooter. We put together a video of us building and are currently in the process of finishing everything we did last week. We are currently starting a video on our progress throughout this project. We are also preparing our presentation for the CBL forum. We also took a survey on who would wear a helmet that another person has worn even if it was disinfected. Over 70% of 44 people had said that they would wear a helmet that was disinfected if another person had worn it. That is a huge increase of people from the previous number of 20% of people that said they would wear a helmet if it was not disinfected. Also, over 93% of people said that they would wear a helmet on an electric scooter. With this data we were able to conclude that most people would wear our helmet while riding an electric scooter. Our group has started to implement the solution. We have had a design change, we have added a brake system. This break system makes automatic braking when turning the E-Scooter. We have built this out of wire, metal rods and screws. We took the wire and ran it through the bottom of the E-Scooter. Then we put it out and up attaching to the break at the end ii of the E-Scooter. We have added the original design of our helmet witch has worked out just as planned. It fits on the E-Scooter and has a sanitation spray on the other side of the frame of the E-Scooter. Submitted By: Jackson
This past week our group has made the plan to execute the solution for our problem. We will start building soon. We will first attach the helmet by opening up the E-Scooters frame and putting the attachable piece in it then. We will discuss adding more details to our scooter to further enhance the mobility and safety of the E-Scooters. Last week we have talked about the technology needed to make our scooter. We believe that with the improvement made our E-Scooter will make the E-Scooter companies want it more and would be willing to listen to our idea. |
